MSMES CONTRIBUTION TO INDIA’S GDP

MSMEs make a crucial contribution to India’s GDP. They contribute over 29 percent to the GDP, 50 percent to the exports and are accountable for one-third of India’s manufacturing output.

GOVERNMENT’S OBJECTIVE

The government’s objective is to raise this contribution to 50 percent in the coming years. Therefore, are considered to be the backbone of the economy. They are also pivotal to the nation’s growth as they employ lakhs of unskilled and semi-skilled individuals.

CHALLENGES FACED BY THE MSME SECTOR

Challenges faced by the MSME sector are financial and infrastructure issues, low productivity & lack of innovation, technical and technological changes, etc

About Chairman

Dr. D. S. Rawat, Former Secretary General, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, began his career in the regional apex chamber of the PHDCCI.
